What Steel Thickness Actually Determines

Pry resistance

Thicker steel directly resists prying. A pry bar inserted at a safe door edge needs to deform the steel to create a gap. 1mm steel requires significantly more force than 0.6–0.8mm, and 2mm steel is harder still. Drill resistance
